Restaurant Review – Loukas, L.A. diner

We were doing stuff all day and felt kind of lazy at the same time so we went out for dinner instead of eating cereal again.

We went to Loukas L.A. Diner.

To tell you the truth it was …”ok” . The atmosphere was pleasant and kinda kitschy. I guess its a theme, old movies, old movie stars, etc. The menu had a ton of options and was kinda of difficult to read. It’s not that I don’t know how to read, LOL, it’s just that there were so many items crammed into tiny spaces intermixed with paragraphs about the “old days” that I couldn’t focus. It might have been that I was completely starving…can’t really say. You can check out pages from the menu on their website.

I got a “Liz Taylor” which is a Grilled Chicken breast sandwich with grilled onion and mushrooms – then topped with swiss cheese. I am not sure what makes this so “Liz Taylor” but it was a good combination.

Hubby got “The Atomic Burger” which wasn’t actually a burger but a chicken sandwich. It had hot wing sauce, a bit of blue cheese dressing, and some celery. He really liked it. It was “just like eating wings”.

Both sandwiches came with french fries, we split a french onion soup to start, and had one water and one coffee. The bill was $25.09. I felt the prices were kind of on the high side and the meal with nothing spectacular.

I guess the Budd Lake Diner really had us spoiled – Hopefully we will be able to find a place near our new house that is just as good.

All in all it was an “okay” meal with a high price tag.
