To the Rescue!

Once again my Hubby came to my rescue. I ordered a dress online for an upcoming wedding (January 22nd) and I just knew it would be perfect. It was long sleeve for the winter weather, had a great cowl neck, and wasn’t too short. I guess I was overly optimistic because when it came it was cute UNTIL I picked it up in my hands and realized it was tissue paper thin and see-through! It was so thin I felt like it would rip right open! Plus, after trying it on (yes I decided to try it on anyway) it poofed out weird in the back and did not look good at all.

So, I feel into a mini depression… deep into a “Nothing fits me, I am so puffy, I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR – WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?!!?” state of mind. So, I called Hubby and told him my sad tale of woe. He said we should just go to the mall after he gets home – that we would find something there.

I bet you are wondering what the big deal is. Why would I have ordered a dress online in the first place? Why didn’t I just go to the store and try some on? Well, you see… I have this body issue – it’s kind of a recent thing. I guess it’s easier to explain if I just show you a picture progression of 6 weeks ago, 4 weeks ago and current.

You see?

It doesn’t show any signs of stopping – LOL – or slowing! Basically, I was scared to even try to find a dress at the mall and look at that bump under all of them. Don’t get me wrong I like the bump – I LOVE the bump! I just don’t like all the other general poofy-ness…and there is poofy-ness. I think by the time I totally embrace my new body it will be time to get back to normal – LOL! But Once again Hubby saved the day and took me shopping where I had at least 5 or 6 good options. I made it out of the store with a nice dress and bolero/jacket to feel good in. Hubbs even took me to pick out cute (and sturdy) shoes to make sure I comfortable and fashionable all night.

Here is the outfit and I will post a picture of me in it once I get to wear it on January 22nd.

Side note: This dress that actually is made of fabric and not tissue paper was only about $10 more than the other one – go figure!

  1. Can’t see the new dress ??? Anyhoo, there’s an article about the prairie woman in a recent magazine I sar. I will save it for you and also an article in the Press about baby proofing the house. Saving that too.

  2. Sorry I had it in the wrong color profile so all you PC users were unable to see the image. I have fixed it – enjoy!
