Outdoor Living

Our patio is literally a slab of concrete that is edged by some bushes. Its nothing special, gets daylight at weird times of the day, and is mostly covered by the other apartments balcony above it. BUT, that didn’t stop my hunny from making it a really relaxing garden space for us. Not only did he plant vegetables and flowers but he also arranged the newly acquired patio chairs, and all of the potted plants just perfectly to really make it a quite little outdoor space for us. We “acquired” the new patio chairs from an apartment sale across the way and they fit perfectly at one of the patio. They were $20. The other adirondack chair was found by the dumpster – not IN the dumpster – and we decided it was a shame someone was throwing it away so we scooped it up and now it has a home on our patio. Here is a piture of the patio (both ends).

Here is a collage of some succulents, cucumber plants, and pea plants.

We also inherited a few plants from the same apartment sale where we purchased the patio chairs. We asked the seller if he was selling the plants on his deck and he said we could just have them! He said he was really worried about them, and was hoping to find them a home. We were thrilled to take the plants because they were gorgeous. We took a hibiscus tree (seen in the picture of the patio above next to the adriondack chair), a fern, and a 40 year old Jade tree. I am in love with all succulents and espescially Jade plants, and let me tell you this Jade is amazing. And here it is:

Another new addition to the patio is a really funky cactus, and growing sunflowers.

I have to say it is quite a lovely patio. Nice job hunny!

how do you know the names of all the plants.

  2. I don’t know what you mean. How do I know all the names of the plants? LOL! The “names” were on the packages of seed G-dub planted.
